Pros of Working with Freelance Developers in India
Are you considering hiring a freelance developer for your project? There are certain benefits in hiring from India, especially to business owners like me based in the US. Let us break it down:

Saving You Some Bucks
When it comes to an Indian freelance developer, their prices are not only competitive but they are less than what is spent hiring full-time employees. They spread the cost across many clients which means you avoid additional expenses such as room, compensation, and administrative functions.
Hourly Rates Snapshot:
- Entry-Level Dev: 10 to 20 US dollars
- Mid-Level Dev: 20 to 40 US dollars
- Senior Dev: 40 to 70 US dollars
These cut rates also allow you to channel some of the funds into other more critical areas of the business or project.
Skills Galore
The Indian freelancers are very skillful and come with numerous competencies. If you need a mobile app developer or someone in data science, they are able to do it.
| Skill Type | Availability |
|---|---|
| Mobile App Development | High |
| UX/UI Design | High |
| Cybersecurity | Medium |
| Data Science | High |
| Cloud Computing | Medium |
Need an expert? They are around. What level of complexity do you want to maintain? Easy. Range of skills or experience levels required can accommodate any budget or project objective.
Quality Rollercoaster
Maintaining a standard of quality that is constant proved to be somewhat challenging. This is what I came across:
- Quality Up-and-Down: Freelance resources are stretched on many a project and therefore, the attention was not always entirely on my project.
- Grade-A Verification Needed: These had to be treated with the utmost care and the greatest scrutiny to tell if they could perform.

The Time Warp
Working across different time zones had some added variety (and not the good variety) to managing the project, this is however:
- Waiting Game: Different time zones meant hours of waiting for feedback which slowed things down.
- Meeting Mayhem: The calls had to be arranged for times which were accommodating to the two parties this was quite a brain tickler.

In spite of these challenges, it is commonplace for the cons of a situation to outweigh its pros: to me they will often do the opposite. I look for these problems and they improved my ability to cope with freelancing as a whole.
